Last night Kansas freshman guard Anrio Adams announced via twitter that he will transfer from the University of Kansas. Unfortunately that's the reality of college basketball these days. Last year the NCAA saw record number of these transfers and more and more it seems to be a combination of players looking for better situations and teams continually competing to bring in the best possible talent. It's a cutthroat world and sometimes things don't work out.
In this situation we don't know exactly why the separation is taking place but it appears to be amicable. Adams showed flashes of athleticism and even a pretty big scoring punch in the Texas Tech matchup during the Big 12 tournament. Someday he might be a major contributor for another school and that would be a great thing for him. As a Kansas fan it would be nice to see that contribution come in a year or two with a Kansas uniform on, but that isn't to be. So for now, we'll remember him quite simply as the man who brought us the greatest series of Kansas Jayhawk 'Gif's' over the course of a single season.
Thank you Rio Adams for being one of the more entertaining sideline performers in recent memory. Good luck, sorry it didn't work out, but it'll happen. On a sidenote, I've included the original Gif from the season because I think we all know that we'll be saying farewell to Ben Mclemore very soon.
