Kentucky had their in home visit with the #1 ranked player in the 2013 class earlier, and Bill Self (as well as Leonard Hamilton and Roy Williams) were to make their pitch to Andrew Wiggins this week.
Been told Andrew Wiggins has canceled his home visits with Kansas, UNC and Florida State early this week.— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanCBS) April 22, 2013
Instead, Wiggins says he will be conducting those visits on the phone. All is not lost however, as pretty much every writer has come out and said that Wiggins is simply tired from playing in the McDonald's All American game, the Jordan Brand Classic and the Hoop Summit over the last three weeks, and he also had some travel issues.
Wiggins has had reporters, fans, etc. asking him where he's going for a long time now, and it has only intensified over the last month or so. He has always been a bit uncomfortable with the attention that goes along with being a future star, and I assume he just wants a break from it. He says he doesn't know where he's going yet, but if Bill Self could get him to commit based on an in home visit I am guessing he will be able to do so via the phone as well. Still, I have pegged Wiggins to Florida State since this process started and I will stick with that.
