Angel Goodrich Leads Kansas Women Against South Carolina

USA TODAY Sports

In the midst of all the excitement during the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament, the Kansas women took to the court in Boulder for the Women's tournament on Saturday as well. The Jayhawks made it into the tournament as a no. 12 seed with an at large bid and were set to face fifth seeded Colorado on the Buffaloes home court.

For the second year in a row Angel Goodrich and the Jayhawks have pulled off a little March magic by upsetting the Buffaloes and advancing to the round of 32. Kansas now turns its attention to a game tonight against South Carolina and with a win Kansas will advance to the Sweet Sixteen for the second year in a row.

Saturday's NCAA Tournament first round win over Colorado was complete team effort by Kansas. The Jayhawks had five players score double-digit points and also had five individuals grab six rebounds or more. KU has had five players post double digits in a game three times this season, including two of the last three contests. That was the only game with five players with six or more boards in a game.

No. 12-seed Kansas will look for its second-straight upset in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, as the Jayhawks will square off against No. 4-seed South Carolina in the Norfolk Regional Monday night, 1t 7:30 p.m. MT, at the Coors Events Center in Boulder, Colo. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
