Run out and grab a copy. Kansas is once again featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated's NCAA Tournament Preview set to hit newstands on Wednesday. This year Ben McLemore is the cover boy for the Jayhawks. McLemore had an incredible freshman season for Kansas and will likely be a top five pick this Spring in the NBA draft. Some projections have the talented freshman as a no. 1 overall pick. First things first, Kansas has a tournament to play in and hopefully make a run in starting this week.
The cover marks the 16th time that Kansas has been featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Other covers include Indiana, Gonzaga and Syracuse. Inside Sports Illustrated announces their All American team along with other notable postseason honors. Travis Releford makes the cut being named to the All Glue Guy team named annually by Seth Davis.
As far as SI's picks, the publication has Gonzaga, Georgetown, Miami and Louisville making the Final Four. While Kansas is a no. 1 seed, there seem to be plenty of skeptics lining up to doubt them. Hopefully that can work in Bill Self's favor and this team will play with a little chip on their shoulder. As it is, it appears they still have plenty to prove.
