Charlie Weis released the depth chart for the Jayhawks season opener against South Dakota State just prior to his press conference this week and the Jayhawks will have several new starters heading into the season.
The offense will be led by senior transfer Dayne Crist at quarterback and Ben Heeney will man the middle on the defensive side of the ball. Mike Ragone, Jordan Tavai and Josh Williams will all start their first games after transferring to Kansas as well.
Gavin Howard won out at right tackle in probably the most watched positional battle this fall with Aslam Sterling starting at right guard.
Plenty to talk about, the season is just around the corner. On paper this group feels like it has potential with the starting group. Depth is probably the biggest concern and the quality of that depth as the season unfolds will be key in any improvement this season.
