Charlie Weis and the Kansas Jayhawks continue a pretty incredible week on the recruiting front and now they are getting down to business on the offensive side of the ball. Less than 12 hours after receiving word on defensive tackle Marquel Combs, Jayhawkslant is reporting the commitment of offensive tackle Zach Fondal.
Fondal is a 6'5" 295 pound junior college prospect out of Navarro Junior College in Texas. He had a visit scheduled with Texas Tech still on the board but he is cancelling that visit and committing to Kansas. Fondal chose the Jayhawks over Arkansas, Texas Tech and South Florida and will be another piece of instant competition for the Jayhawks.
Fondal joins Ngalu Fusimalohi as one of two junior college offensive lineman committed to the Jayhawks who will be looking to reload after the departures of Tanner Hawkinson, Trevor Marrongelli and Duane Zlatnik. Kansas still has several offers out to other junior college offensive lineman with Matt Finnin and Josiah St. John being the big names. From the high school level Kansas is a finalist for Reeve Koehler. If all works out the Jayhawk running attack could be in great shape next year and Jake Heaps will have a nice front line of protection heading into his junior campaign.
