If you were wondering if anyone was more convinced about the Kansas Jayhawks following a win against Northern Illinois the answer is a resounding no. Vegas set the opening line in this one at 14.5 and the Jayhawks are the heavy underdog in their first road trip.
Realistically we all saw it coming. Kansas is likely a dog in every game from here on out unless Kansas State or Texas Tech fall off a cliff. It's the first road contest, the first BCS opponent of the season and quite frankly Georgia Tech has looked pretty good at times early in the season. The running game at Tech averages 6 yards per carry, new starting quarterback Tevin Washington looks more capable of hurting you through the air and overall their offense has put up some big numbers. Based on the first two Kansas defensive performances it is cause for concern.
At the same time the Kansas offense does provide some hope and this a team that Kansas came out and upset just a year ago. Turner Gill and his staff will need to work a little more magic again this year but at the moment this thing looks like a potential shootout and the odds-makers don't believe Kansas can keep up.
