Welcome to the Rock Chalk Talk and your open thread for the first round of the NCAA tournament and the Kansas Jayhawks vs the Boston Terriers. This will also serve as your open thread for all tourney games taking place as part of the evening but obviously the task at hand here at RCT is the Jayhawks and dispatching their first round opponent.

Now this tournament has already had one of the more hectic starts in recent memory. It seems every year we get a reminder of why we call it March Madness, but game after game so far has proven to provide exciting basketball. For Kansas the loss by Louisville and Vanderbilt certainly has enormous implications should the Jayhawks reach the second weekend. This team just has to make sure they take care of that business first.

Now obviously one game doesn't necessarily act as an indicator for another, and Kansas should beat Boston with relative ease, but seeing Kansas come out focused and not sluggish is fairly important in my mind. The last thing I want is to head into Sunday having to hope we can turn the light switch to on because we got by on pure talent in round one. I think this team could be beyond that point, but I've been wrong before.
