Open Thread: NCAA Tournament Day Two, Morning Session

Lens11163731_12748301992011_final_four_houston_j_mediumCan Friday top Thursday?  I usually side with hoping the day that Kansas plays goes a little more chalk, but I have a feeling that 2010-2011 might be about as hectic as we've ever seen.  That said, as I'm watching games yesterday, I couldn't help but think that the best teams will rise to the occasion.  Everyone likes to say that there are no great teams in college basketball this year, but Kansas, Ohio State, Duke and Pitt have been in that conversation more than anyone and now they get a chance to show it.

All Times Eastern

#13 Oakland vs. #4 Texas, noon, CBS

This is an overlooked upset special but many expect Texas to make a serious play at a Final Four.

#9 Tennessee vs. #8 Michigan, 12:30 p.m., trutv

Bruce Pearl could be playing for his job in this one.

#15 Akron vs. #2 Notre Dame, 1:30 p.m., TBSThe Irish play the day after St. Patty's day, should we expect them to start sluggish?

#9 Villanova vs. #8 George Mason, 2 p.m., TNT

Villanova needs to grab a win to show the Big East deserved 11.

#12 Memphis vs. #5 Arizona, 2:30 p.m., CBS

The Derek Williams show tips against Memphis

#16 Hampton vs. #1 Duke, 3 p.m., trutv

Another top seed on trutv

#10 Florida State vs. #7 Texas A&M, 4 p.m., TBS

If Kansas State get's a five A&M deserved better than a #7, hopefully they represent the Big 12 well.

#16 UTSA vs. #1 Ohio State, 4:30 p.m., TNT

meh?

The Jayhawks are of course the first tip of the evening session.  RCT will have a game specific open thread for Kansas and both that and the postgame will serve as your evening session thread.
