Kansas Basketball "Late Night" Visitor Rundown

"Late Night in the Phog" tips off the basketball season in Lawrence Kansas tonight and with that comes one of the bigger basketball recruiting weekends of the year at Kansas.  The event brings some of the best high school prospects from around the country and puts Kansas basketball and it's fans on display.

So who's coming to town?  2012 commitments as well as 2012 and 2013 prospects.  If you're headed out tonight and checking in at the Phog do Bill Self a favor, know these names and makes some noise.  At the end of the day we all win!

Kaleb Tarczewski - 2012 C

Zeus as he is known is a 7' big man that has Kansas and Arizona as his final two.  Tarczewski is priority numero uno this weekend for Bill Self and his staff and locking down the number one center in the country would be huge.  The tricky thing here is that Tarczewski does have a follow up trip to Arizona planned next weekend and Wildcat fans are pulling out all the stops.  Kansas and the Jayhawk fans need to reintroduce themselves to Kaleb in a big way and in an ideal world keep him from making that trip.  At one point Kansas appeared to be the odds on favorite here, but now it seems to be wide open heading into the final two visits.

Perry Ellis - 2012 PF Commitment

Ellis was considered a Kansas lean since he stepped on the court as a freshman in Wichita Kansas.  He's an in state prospect and was as close to a must get for Bill Self as we've seen.  Now that Ellis is committed to the Crimson and blue it seems only fitting that he get involved on the recruiting front and work toward solidifying his potential frontcourt partner in Tarczewski.  Throw in 2012 commit Zach Peters and you have the makings of a great future frontcourt with several different types of players.  Get ready to turn Danny Manning loose and watch the magic happen.

Chris Walker - 2013 PF

Walker is a power forward on the board for next year.  He's entering his junior campaign and this seems like the right time to get a player on campus if you ask me.  The competition looks stiff for Walker.  He's a Florida native and Billy Donovan has him on top of the Florida list, Thad Matta and Ohio State have also offered.

Allerik Freeman - 2013 SG

Freeman is a 6'4" combo guard out of North Carolina.  He's physically ready to go and currently has offers from Florida, Kansas State, Georgetown and Villanova to name a few.  North Carolina has their eye on him as well. One big thing to remember with all of the 2013 prospects is that they have to pay their own way on this one.  These are unofficial visits so for someone to make the arrangements and put together a trip to Kansas for late night speaks highly to their interest in the program.

Brannen Greene - 2013 SF

Greene is a 6'7" small forward that is ranked 35th nationally in his class.  Greene currently holds offers from Kansas, Florida, Connecticut, Louisville, Ohio State and Harvard.  Always interesting to see Harvard on the list.  Greene calls Georgia home and has cut his list to nine with a decision planned by December of this year or early 2012 looking like a possibility.

Those are the biggies.  Isiah Lewis canceled his trip last minute but is still expected to make a trip to Kansas before it's all said and done.  Also on the list for this weekend; Jordan Mickey, Karviar Shepherd.  Both are 2013 prospects.
