Big 12 basketball media days are kicking off and with that comes the annual preseason media poll. While this year promises to be one of the most challenging in recent memory for Bill Self, it appears that maybe some folks have learned their lesson.
Kansas and Texas A&M tied atop the poll and share the distinction of being the co-favorites to win the Big 12 conference in 2011-2012. Kansas will be chasing their eighth consecutive under head coach Bill Self and perhaps it's that level of consistency that led to the Jayhaws garnering so many votes despite seeing the majority of their rotation from a year ago depart for a variety of reasons. It is worth noting that the Jayhawks received the most first place votes with five.
Baylor checks in at the 3rd place spot followed by Missouri and Texas to round out the top half of the league. Kansas opens the season tomorrow night with "Late Night in the Phog" where a host of Jayhawk prospects will be in attendance checking out Bill Self and his new crew for 2011-2012.
