Kansas Jayhawk News and Notes 1.17.11

Big Monday debuts today in what I think is a pretty fun way to kick things off.  A quadruple header of Big East/Big 12 action kicks off early in the afternoon with two top 10 teams in Villanova vs Connecticut.  Next up at 5:30 ET a pretty good match up in the Big 12 as K-State heads to Columbia to take on the Tigers.  Syracuse vs Pitt after that and then our own Jayhawks head down to Waco for the finale in a game that we're sure to join ten minutes late as is protocol whenever the Big LEast plays before us.

Baylor preview coming up and then a Big Monday Open thread here at RCT starting with the first game for any college basketball junkies who plan on watching.  Then at 8:30, Kansas vs. Baylor Open Thread and a huge road game for Kansas.

Kansas Basketball

In quest to win, Self trusts his gut, not outside factors, in substitution decisions |
So far there have been at least a handful of times where Self's decisions have looked fairly brilliant after Kansas escapes with a win.

Baylor big man Perry Jones could play big role in Big Monday battle with Kansas |
Perry Jones is slated by many as the top pick in the upcoming draft. He'll be a handful tonight for Kansas.

Kansas Football

Kansas rookie TE Jimmay Mundine a ‘stud’ in the making |
A name that's floating around a lot this offseason is Mundine's. Nice to see he's added that much weight.

Superlatives: The best games of 2010 - Dr. Saturday
Dr. Saturday runs through some great games, many I'd forgotten about. A nice way to close the books on college football until spring comes around. Sadly, no Kansas games made the cut, Colorado had to be top 25 right?
