Here goes week 2 of looking at the numbers for the Jayhawks and their opponent.  As Owen pointed out in his Matchup Breakdown, this might be a tough week.  Georgia Tech put up some impressive numbers against South Carolina State in the first week, maybe they just actually took advantage of playing a vastly inferior opponent.  Hopefully that's the case because Kansas didn't show the ability to keep up with an offense that looks as productive as the Ramblin Wreck's offense.

A few thoughts after the jump.

  • Georgia Tech did give up 178 yards to 1AA South Carolina State.  This might be an opening for the offensive line and the backs to get something positive going for the team.
  • With that said, the coaching staff has made the decision to go with the pocket passer.  Seems like an odd choice to me, especially when it was stated that Pick will likely see the field.  If Coach Gill is making Webb the starter, go for it.  Halfway and against a team that looks to have struggled against the rush just isn't adding up for me.  Can someone help me out?
  • The numbers from last week do show a defense that did their job against a 1AA team.  Week 1 is clearly on the offense and special teams (as far as on the field causes).
