This weekend could be a fairly important one locally for Turner Gill and the Jayhawks as the staff plays host during a series of camps that will see several local targets in attendance.
Tonight things get started with a late night "Friday Night Lights" camp.
Things continue through the weekend with the O-Line/D-Line camp and a team 7 on 7 tournament both taking place throughout the day on Saturday.
Sunday wraps up the weekends activities with a one day "QB Academy" with Turner Gill and Chuck Long.
Several local targets will be on campus for the weekend including the Blue Springs trio of Darrian Miller, Bernard Thomas and Jordan Nubine although Thomas is not 100% confirmed.
In addition to those three the top ranked player in the state of Kansas, Jordan Phillips, will also be on campus. He'll be joined by another Wichita area player, friend and current Kansas commit Dreamius Smith.
Another pair of names to keep an eye on include Jordon McCallister and Phil Ford. Neither has an offer as of yet, but Ford was VERY high on Kansas early. After receiving his first offer from Minnesota and seeing his teammate and quarterback Max Shortell commit to the Gophers it looks like it could be an uphill climb for the Jayhawks if they do decide to offer.
There will likely be more to the group and I'll be working to confirm and follow up with any news of note throughout the weekend.
