Zach Peters Commits to Kansas

In an early move for the 2012 recruiting class, Zach Peters out of Plano Texas committed to the Kansas Jayhawks today.

Just a sophomore, Peters is part of the 2012 class and has selected Kansas early in the process over Texas, UNC and Kentucky.  Obviously there is still a lot of time between now and when Peters can actually sign on the dotted line, but for now the commitment is a big early win for the Jayhawks.

Peters is a 6'9" 240 pound power forward who plays very physical and possesses great strength on the interior.  Peters also has the ability to step out and consistently knock down the mid range jumper.

While it's still too soon for any sort of 2012 class rankings and a lot of development can occur in two years, Peters is viewed as a potential elite level talent and a big early grab for Kansas.  Other big names that have Kansas very much in the discussion for 2012 include, Perry Ellis, Shabazz Muhammad and JP Tokoto.  All three are expected to be in the five star category and all have expressed a strong liking for Bill Self and the Jayhawks.

Another random sneak peak.  2013 recruit Julius Randle.   A teammate of Peters and believed to be close friends and interested in Kansas potentially.
