Kansas v Texas preview info and stats to come.
This past weekend the Kansas Jayhawk football staff hosted their first of what appears to be two junior day's geared toward giving football prospects the opportunity to get to know a little bit more about Kansas and the football program. The staff hosted players from Illinois, Missouri and all across Kansas who were in Lawrence taking in the campus, visiting the facilities, seeing what the program has to offer and of course watching the Jayhawks get a win over the Huskers in basketball.
One such visitor that is drawing a lot of attention early on in the recruiting process is offensive line prospect Dylan Admire out of Blue Valley West in Overland Park Kansas. Admire spent Friday in Nebraska where he received an offer from the Huskers and then made his way to Lawrence on Saturday. Admire has really seen his stock soar following a strong showing at this years army underclassman combine and while it's still early in the process, it's pretty clear that he's one of the top targets in the Kansas City area for Coach Turner Gill.
Following his trip Dylan gave Rock Chalk Talk a few minutes of his time before settling in to watch the Superbowl. The Jayhawks will be looking for several offensive lineman with this year's class and Admire will certainly be one we'll be watching here at Rock Chalk Talk.

Dylan, to get things started why don't you give us a little background on you recruitment to date. When teams started showing interest? How things are progressing now that we're fully focused on the 2011 class.
I actually started receiving letters in the spring of my sophomore year. In terms of immediate plans I have four visits set up in the next month and two of them I took this weekend. Those two consisted of Nebraska and KU, both schools made me an offer.
Denver
Talk a little about your Kansas visit. What you did? What you like? How things look for you with Kansas after the trip.
I went up for their junior day. After arriving I sat down with Coach Gill and he made me an offer right away. I am really excited about that and Coach Gill seems like a great coach with a great background.
I was very impressed with the facilities and really liked the new academic center; it left me with a great impression of KU.
I also spent quite a bit of time talking to Coach Grimes and he explained what he looks for in a player. He's obviously a great coach with a lot of coaching experience. Last thing I did was attend the KU Nebraska basketball game which was exciting and a chance to see the atmosphere.
Denver
What schools are most involved with you and which ones are you favoring at this point?
I'm currently keeping any open. I'm very interested in KU and Nebraska.
One of my teammates Patrick Lewandowski signed with KU on signing day and I'm super excited for him.
The other schools that are involved right now are Kansas State, Missouri, Iowa State, Alabama, Illinois, Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, Duke and Washington.
Denver
What would you say are your top priorities when looking at a school and a program at this point?
The most important thing to me is the graduation rate because obviously you need to get a degree. My ultimate goal is to play in the NFL, but you have to have a degree to fall back on. It's really important to me how a University is set up to help the athletes succeed academically.
Denver
What do you have scheduled going forward in terms of recruiting? You said you had another pair of visits set?
Next weekend I'll be attending K-State for their junior day followed by Iowa State's the next weekend and back to Nebraska for theirs the weekend after that. I also plan on attending some spring games.
Denver
Any sort of timeline for your decision at this point?
No, not at this point. I'm keeping an open mind for now.
Denver
Well thank you for your time, stay in touch if you get closer to a decision.
Will do, thanks.
