Brock Berglund Switches To Kansas

The Denverpost is reporting confirmation directly from Brock Berglund that the 3* dual threat quarterback has switched his commitment from Colorado to Kansas.

Quarterback has been a position lacking any sort of stability throughout Turner Gill's short tenure with Kansas and it seemed to become a priority in this class.  Rivals.com's Colorado affiliate reported that Berglund was more comfortable with the direction of the Kansas offense and a zone-read system over CU coach Jon Embree's pro-style.

Some of the changes in scheme and personnel are clearly different from my recruitment, and even though they may be in the best interest of the program,  they do not represent the best fit for me personally."
Berglund was high on coach Gill and coach Long's list since this past summer.  When he committed to CU it seemed like that door closed.  Obviously the struggles at Colorado are well documented and with a little bit of uncertainty it reopened that door.  Based on Berglund and CU's initial reaction following Jon Embree's hiring and first visit this comes as a bit of a surprise, but it's definitely one nice last little victory over the departing Buffs for Kansas.

Berglund measures 6'4" 215 and has shown the ability to make plays with his arm and his feet.  In Berglunds final high school game he led his team to a 38-8 win throwing for 280 yards and three touchdowns while adding 122 yards on the ground.  It looks like Turner Gill has addressed his depth concerns at quarterback, added some good competition and may have found a player to build around.
