This weekend coach Gill and his staff played host to several recruits as part of a weekend full of official visits that of course was capped off with a pretty good view of Josh Selby's debut in Allen Fieldhouse.

In total the Jayhawks had eight recruits(that I've been able to confirm) in for the weekend, but seven of those are already committed players.  Dylan Admire, Dreamius Smith, Phil Ford, Collin Garrett, Ben Goodman, Jason Hensley and Travis Bodenstein all made the trip as recruits who have already made a verbal commitment to coach Gill and the Jayhawks.

I caught up with Dylan Admire who we interviewed very early on in the process and asked his opinion on his class and the foundation that Turner Gill is building at Kansas.

We have a solid class this year I believe. Then I'll be up their in a month along with Darrian, Julius and Bo which will help all of us out in getting a head start.

The team has been working crazy hard since the end of the season and seems to be really close to one another. Next year we are going to be better and just continue to keep building every year to get back to the bowl games

The one uncommitted player in attendance was Anthony Pierson a one time Mizzou commitment who has since changed his mind and opened up his recruitment.  I asked Admire about Pierson's visit.

We made sure to talk to him quite a bit and make him feel comfortable and I think he had a good time, especially at the basketball game. It was a slower weekend since the students weren't there anymore, but I still think he had a good time from what I could tell.

He told me he's also going to visit Tennessee, Iowa and one other place, I think Arkansas and he told me he'd commit on signing day.

Pierson is a four star rated athlete out of East St. Louis and Reggie Mitchell is his lead recruiter.  Now Jayhawkslant did report earlier today that in speaking with one of the other recruits on campus the feeling was that Pierson might commit sooner (I'd prefer this scenario be the right one) so we'll have to see.  Either way I'd say he'll be one to keep an eye on all the way up until signing day.
