Kansas Jayhawk Gameday News and Notes

Kickoff at 11am CST, sounds like there are some difficulties with those of you sporting Dish Network but for most this will be televised on FSN.  Open Game Thread will be up an hour before kickoff, feel free to join the free chat here at RCT during the game.

After Kansas, there are a ton of great college football games throughout the day and into the night and we'll have an open thread after our postgame reaction to follow all of those as well.  Here's hoping the Jayhawks can give us a big reason to keep our college football hopes alive.

Gameday Notes

KU-BAYLOR SERIES -- Kansas trails the all-time series against Baylor 5-4 with six of the meetings coming since the formation of the Big 12 Conference in 1996 (series is tied 3-3 since then). The teams have not played since KU posted a 58-10 victory in Lawrence in 2007. KU won the first meeting 22-0 in 1971 and then lost three straight (1988, 1989 and 1998). The home team has won this matchup in each of the last seven meetings. KU is 0-4 in Waco losing in 1989, 1998, 2002 and 2006. KU head coach Turner Gill is 0-1 all-time coaching against Baylor losing 34-21 to the Bears in Buffalo in 2007.

BACK-TO-BACK WITH NO TURNOVERS -- Kansas turned the ball over three times in the season opener against North Dakota State, had one miscue against Georgia Tech in the second game and then has not had a turnover in the last two games at Southern Mississippi and New Mexico State. The last time KU went two consecutive games without a turnover was a four-game stretch in 2007.
