RockChalks7 posted a comment regarding a new commitment and I thought it deserving of a little front page love. We're all winding down those final days before practice get's going and the season truly kicks off, but it's been an awful nice distraction seeing all the progress on the recruiting front this past week.
Jayhawkslant is reporting Zach Bolton is the newest Jayhawk commitment after pulling the trigger this morning. Zach is a very nice pickup for the 2010 class at the offensive line position. At 6'2" 260 Bolton comes from the same high school as current Jayhawk Johnathan Wilson. As Rockchalks7 states, he's a high 3 star rated recruit who won MVP honors at the National Underclassman Combine this summer.
What stands out most for me on this one is the other offers on the table. The Jayhawks beat out fellow Big 12 schools Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa State and Baylor. Bolton also received offers from Minnesota, Wake Forest and Illinois to name a few.
The 2010 class is looking like it will have a smaller number of offensive line recruits with the numbers available but Bolton is an example of where quality can make up for quantity in some instances.
