KU Baseball opens today - Live webcasts available all weekend.

Today is opening day for NCAA baseball across the nation.  The Kansas Jayhawks go into action this afternoon at 1PM in Millington, Tennessee as they take part in the Service Academy Classic.  The Hawks play four games this weekend, all of which will be webcasted.  Just go to www.kuathletics.com.  I’ll copy the instructions for logging into the webcast below.  You can find a quick preview of this weekend’s opponents here, or by visiting the KU Baseball homepage.

Friday, 1PM vs. Air Force - KANSAS 5 - Air Force 0

Friday, 4PM vs. Memphis - Kansas 4 - MEMPHIS 5

Saturday 1PM vs. Bradley (Cameron Selik) RAINED OUT

Sunday 10AM vs. Bradley (Lee Ridenhour) RAINED OUT

Update: An extra game vs. Memphis, Sunday 1PM was added to make up for the rainouts.

I'll update results over the weekend.  I am hoping for three wins this weekend.  One note, starting catcher Buck Afenir will sit out the first three games while serving a suspension stemming from his arrest this summer.

Media Instructions supplied by KU:

All games during opening week will be broadcast via internet by going to www.kuathletics.com.  You will see 3 tabs just below the Jayhawk logo.  Click on the one titled "Calendar".  You will see a calendar of upcoming events with the media options out to the side.  Our options are "Audio" and "Gametracker".  If you click on Audio, it will likely take you to a page asking you to download Microsoft Silverlight, if you don't already have that installed on your computer.  It is a free download.  Once you have done this, you will be able to go back to the calendar page, click on Audio for each specific game and listen.  There will be nothing on the link until game time.
The Gametracker link will be available for each game this season.  This is a live stats program that lets you following what is happening during the game.  It is not a live video feed.  For many of our home games, particularly in the 2nd half of the season, you will be able to watch live video feed from Rock Chalk Video from this same page.  You may also find additional media options from our opponents websites, especially when we are on the road.
