As the 2007 major and minor league baseball season gets underway here is an update on former KU players now playing professionally. Good luck to these former Jayhawks.
In the Majors
Tom Gorzelanny (SP) - Won his first game of the year as the #3 starting pitcher in the Pittsburg Pirates rotation.
In the Minors
Brent Del Chiaro (C) - Will be with the AAA Salt Lake Bees of the Angels organization.
Travis Metcalf (3B) - Will be with the AA Frisco RoughRiders of the Texas organization.
Don Czyz (RP) - Will be pitching for the high-A Greensboro team in the Florida organization.
Gus Milner (CF) - Will be with the high-A Lakewood BlueClaws of the Philadelphia organization.
John Nelson (SS) - Will be with the AAA Memphis Redbirds of the St. Louis organization.
Jared Schweitzer (3B) - Has been moved to third base and will start the season at low-A Quad Cities in the St. Louis organization.
A. J. Van Slyke (1B) - Has been moved to first base and will start the season at high-A Palm Beach of the St. Louis organization.
Mike Zagursky (SP) - Will open the season at high-A Clearwater in the Philadelphia organization

Sean Land (P) - Is pitching for the low-A Beloit Snappers of the Minnesota organization.
Les Walrond (SP) - Is in the starting rotation of the AAA Iowa Cubs.
