The Niagara Purple Eagles, led by senior Clif Brown's 32 points and 6 3 pointers beat the Florida A&M Rattlers 77-69 today in the NCAA's Opening Round game. Niagara basically led the entire game with the Rattlers only leading for a minute or two near the end of the first half 31-29 and 31-30. Niagara had 6 days of rest since their MAAC championship game against Siena while Florida A&M had only had 2 since Saturday's victory over Delaware State. The extra days of rest was obviously a factor as A&M got off to a bad start and never recovered.
I will put up my preview for Friday night's game sometime tomorrow and I want to get to my Tournament preview up sometime tonight.
Rock Chalk!
