Around SBN: SB Nation MMA Rankings for August 2010

Open Game Thread : Game # 23 : Missouri (13-9) @ #4 Kansas (22-1)

OK, sorry for not getting a whole lot up over the weekend, but I have an excuse(s).

  1. Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday. I, of course, watched it as did 97.5 other million people in just America alone. That is the second most viewers of any television event, second only to the M*A*S*H finale way back in 1983.
  2. Tonight is my little brother's birthday, so I might not even watch the game live.
  3. Lastly, and most importantly, I have been pretty sick since Saturday morning. I am incredibly stuffed up right now, hardly capable of breathing through my nose, and that has hampered my workload today.
So, I'm sorry for not previewing Missouri or putting up my Big 12 Power Rankings. But, in case anyone wants to comment in tonight's should-be-blowout against the rival Missouri Tigers, here is your place.

I will try to be back tomorrow with a game recap, but I'm not promising anything.

ROCK CHALK!

Eat Crap and Kill Yourselves, Misery
It's sad how down the basketball rivalry seemed this year, especially after the epic football game. Hard to get to pumped up to play an 8 man squad that sucked anyways, though.

Good win, though.  It was good to see Cole get a lot of run. He had his ups and downs, but I can see him really developing into something special in the next couple years under Danny Manning's tuteledge.

I don't understand why our backcourt defense has gotten so porous of late- it's almost like the team decided to just put it in cruise control the last couple of games. They're talented enough to still comfortably beat most teams that way at home, but it just doesn't work that way on the road--especially when you've got KANSAS written on your chest and a top 5 ranking.

This Baylor game could be a lot of fun. Can't wait.

Watch that "way back" comment.  Some of us were born that year ;-)
