Open Game Thread : Game #26 : Colorado (9-13) @ #3 Kansas (23-2)

This is our easiest conference game, a home game against the worst team in the Big 12.

And after a minor slump of only five games, mostly on the defensive side, this afternoon would be a mighty fine time to break free.

I will be looking specifically at our perimeter defense, because I would be my last dollar that we will win today, it shouldn't be close and if it is, blame the guards and their defense.

Prediction:  Kansas 79 Colorado 54

i havent talked about it all week..
but, in case you havent heard, we are honoring all of the greats of Kansas past. would have rather done it against someone besides colorado, but i guess it gives the team an easy win to make sure the afternoon celebration isnt ruined.

i guess.

but anyways, i absolutely love the throwbacks we are wearing right now. i only see the shorts, but they are sick.

yikes.
this hasnt exactly been the "break out" performance i was hoping for this afternoon.

we havent played "bad" per se, but have played incredibly sluggish, almost like we are simply going through the motions of an easy home conference win. the last gimme game we had at home, we absolutely demolished the cornhuskers, winning 84-49. today, we are playing uninspired 100%, without a pulse.

maybe this is good for the NCAA tournament, we have come in piping hot two consecutive years and did not make the Final Four, so maybe a cold stretch in mid-february is what we need.

but, whether it is good or not, we need to break free of it eventually. we will have an entire week of practice before next weeks game in stillwater, maybe that will be the one.

Here We Go Hawks!
Starting to show some flashes of our old form. I predict we go on a big time run at some point in the second half. Good things, good things. Mazel.

Plus, it seemed like Cole played a lot in the first half. Clearly, Self reads RCT.

we are playing incredibly better
in the second half.

after a sluggish first half, and a marginal halftime lead, we are finally playing up to our potential, specifically the athletic monster that is darrell arthur.

boom goes the rockefeller.

for such a sluggish start
that really ended incredibly well.

more on the game later on tonight, but that was a very impressive performance in the second half, especially by darrell arthur.

also love the fact that both tyrell reed and cole aldrich saw big time minutes, they will be two of the key cogs on next years' team.
