Time to move on. Today is the Super Bowl for 49 States and the majority of the world. It's when we get together with friends, eat things we shouldn't, drink more than we should and watch a football game that is honestly a little less exciting than the rest of the playoffs.

But hey we've got commercials, Madonna, Tom Brady and Eli Manning all on the agenda and a pregame show that starts a solid four and a half hours before kickoff. It's America, it's football, it's EXCESS to the MAX! I am in early preparations to make some el mezcal white cheese dip stuff and probably some little smokies. I've got my growler of IPA on deck and I'm all in. Good times.

So with that, we'll have an open thread in case you want to talk Super Bowl here on RCT. I'm assuming it will be pretty quiet here, but the open thread post serves more than one purpose at times.

Time to revisit this one more time before we vote next week. I tell you my first new nomination...THE DUNK.

I'll admit that I've been neglecting the RCT Hall of Fame and a few other sidebar areas of the site of late. But alas we are back on the train of blog interaction success!. Recruit trackers is updated, twitter pic feed is live (email me your favorite KU sports pic and I'll tweet it out). Fetch is helping me rock twitter as an overall tool for RCT (up to nearly 900 followers), facebook likes are approaching 600, and of course we've got a new logo to boot....we're on a ROLL!

So with that let's give some much needed attention to our RCT Hall of Fame and kick off Nominations for the 2011 class. Yes it's the 2011 class because we are inducting those that show exemplary service and or a Jayhawk Sports/RCT passion that is second to none. Or they could just be some off the wall random like SherronCollinsisthebestandIlovehim.

During the last go around we had the intention of inducting Members, Posts, Pics and Threads. We only got around to Members so if you have any past nominations that date back further for the other three categories, please nominate them below in the comment section. But for Members let's think about the last year, 2011 and who deserves to join RockChalk, KennyGregoryRocktheCradle, Denverjhawk, Warden, Bensa and KUGrad08...are ANY of these guys still around by the way?

shouting the praises of Jake Heaps.
While K State and Missouri fans pretended not to be impressed, saying "who?"
They knew that Lawrence was the new site of Quarterback U

Out of the thread rose our leader once again
his name was Denver, aka Owen.
He gathered the commenters, and 'round they came.
He brought them all, calling them by name.

"On Rivet, on PDX, on bigreed, on hiphop"
"Get to the OGT with haste, and don't stop."
"On sax solo, on PenHawk" he remarked
"On Grad, wait..who the hell is Andrew Clark?"

Day after Thanksgiving and there are some great football games to be played.  LSU v Arkansas takes center stage and is a huge game for the BCS picture.  Winner is the SEC West champ and heads to the SEC championship game playing for a shot at a National title.  Meanwhile Alabama and Nick Saban are laughing and thanking an inept kicking game for their easy path to the championship game.  Just don't stumble against your rival.

Also on the docket we have two former Big 12 teams looking to establish NEW rivalries on the day after Thanksgiving.  Colorado and Nebraska used to play this one every year.  This year Colorado plays Utah, Huskers play Hawkeyes as both begin building something from nothing.

Good day of football so grab some leftovers and a beer and avoid shopping at all costs.

It's Thanksgiving, hopefully everyone here will have a chance to spend some time with family and/or friends, and hopefully you get a chance to reflect on whatever it is that makes you thankful. 

And when you're done with all that and looking for a chance to regain your sanity, kick on the football game and jump on over here to RCT.  All day open thread for football, basketball, or whatever strikes you talk with your favorite home away from home on the internet.  Rock Chalk Thanksgiving Jayhawk!

Remember the vote or die campaign with P.Diddy?  That seemed a bit harsh didn't it?  What if you are just anti scantron or you didn't have a candidate that you supported?  Does P.Diddy really want you to die?  I'd like to think not, but he might if you neglect your civic duty when it comes to the new Rock Chalk Talk logo design.

We opened the floor to submissions, we've kicked the tires, critiqued, improved and zeroed in on a few great options.  At the top of the page you'll find all five potential designs.  Moving left to right we're counting them as 1...2...3...4...and 5.  Again that IS LEFT TO RIGHT, ONE THROUGH FIVE.  I don't want any Floridian's messing this up.

Now obviously the above examples are a little blurry because of the grouping etc.  You can find the full logo in the proper size after the jump.  I'll even number them in case there is any confusion.  We'll probably push this vote on all week.  Or until I'm happy with the result...only kidding.  As long as we have some folks voting, we'll keep it going until I feel like at least all the regular readers etc have had a chance to weigh in.
