Kansas Jayhawks News and Notes 8.6.13
I agree we have a tendency to disregard players who underachieve but still make a solid contribution the previous year. Although in all fairness, with how bad we were last year, even an injured good player should have stood out.
I like to see this in a coach. Everyone messes up. If they work hard to make up for it, then there shouldn't be an issue letting them have another chance.
Really hope Opurum sticks with the Chiefs. Was a bit surprised to see him moved back to fullback, but it should be something he can excel at if given the chance to learn the system.
Lots of credit to go around. He's done more than enough to get all the credit he needs. Might as well share.
Bill has always struck me as an honest guy. This is just keeping in his general character. Would I be upset if he went? Yeah, but not upset with him. The fact that he acknowledges that he might get the urge at some point to coach on the NBA is being realistic, and it makes his assurances that he is perfectly happy here all the more believable.
Lots of KU-related info here. Was a little surprised that 3 of the 5 "freshman to watch" are ours though. They are definitely deserving of it, but I thought they'd spread the recognition around the conference a bit more.
I hope this is just one of those evil, nasty rumors. It'd kill me if these guys went to Duke (although at least it isn't Kentucky)
I'll be interested to see if either the KU-MU 2007 or 2008 Orange Bowl make the list, bit I would have thought they would be in this range if they were.
I highly recommend clicking through to the source article, but this commentary is spot on with transfers. Sounds like the whole transfer process could use some review too.
Wow. Manziel takes douchery to a whole new level....
