I just realized this, but today is my official 2 year anniversary here at RCT. Just wanted to say a big thanks to Owen for giving me a shot to write here and keeping me on as long as he has, as well as a thanks to everyone who has read anything I've written, whether you thought it was good or sucked or somewhere in between, and especially to you commenters who make RCT what it is

Guess what happens when you drop a game to Rice after a 2-10 season a year ago? You don't get on television for a game in Dekalb Illinois. Look for this one on ESPN3 folks.
ISU & TTU fans will (continue) screaming about Ubben being wrong, but I've not known him to be extreme. To hear him give this commentary is almost as depressing as the "What we learned in the Big East" article. "It's going to be another long year in Lawrence. What's more troubling? Kansas losing this game? Or Kansas being just a six-point favorite against Rice, which had never beaten a team from the Big 12 since the league was formed? The Jayhawks looked the part of an inexperienced team that didn't know how to win on Saturday, squandering a 24-13 lead late in the third quarter and losing a game it had no business losing. Dayne Crist's second interception of the day was a back-breaker, giving Rice the ball near midfield to set up the game-winning field goal as time expired. Crist is better than KU's alternatives, but he hasn't played well to this point. He finished just 16-of-28 for 144 yards with a touchdown and two picks. I thought Kansas would be better this year. The Jayhawks may improve by season's end -- Saturday proved they've got more room to do it than any team in the Big 12 -- but good grief, losing to Rice at home? I don't care what the circumstances are. That's terrible for a Big 12 team. This is the worst KU loss since the 6-3 North Dakota State disaster that kicked off the Turner Gill Era in 2010."
Take a minute today to go in an make your picks. Some good matchups this week, should make for a pretty good spread with the results.
PASSING YARDS - 169.0, 88th Overall RUSHING YARDS - 263.0, 20th Overall POINTS FOR - 31.0, 53rd Overall POINTS AGAINST - 17.0, 38th Overall I realize it is just the first week, ad SDSU is FCS, but are they really any worse than some of the other cupcakes played by most of the BCS schools? Regardless, it is still nice to not see triple digit rankings, even if that may change once we get OSU & WVU. Lord have mercy.
Pretty light week for the league coaches teleconference but Charlie Weis does answer about four questions. Talks about his overall assessment of the game, Dayne Crist's performance, the running attack and how he felt the new additions on defense held up.
Well, we aren't last... And apparently this guy doesn't realize we had an AD change in there.
