Didn't get a chance to do anything more than skim it, but John Gasaway is one of the best writers out there, so I'm assuming it is phenomenal as always.
Thought this was an interesting article. Looks at what schools had the combined best basketball and football programs since the BCS began. They said they didn't use teams that scored less than 5.0 points (on their point system) in football, which is why KU didn't make it. KU only scored 4.5 points on their scale, but would have ended up in 9th place overall if they wouldn't have factored that into the equation. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1090378 (The actual list. The combined standing with no minimum is at the bottom of the page.)
"Today is Day 2 of our countdown of the Big 12's 25 best players entering the 2010 season. The full results are locked in a vault in an undisclosed location, but we'll be revealing one player per day until we reach the top of the list. "Remember, this isn't a list of the top 25 NFL prospects in the league. It's heavily weighted toward actual accomplishment in players' college careers, as well as the likely impact for their teams in the 2010 season. No. 24: Tanner Hawkinson, OT, So., Kansas"
As the ticketing scandal continues, one former KAI employee is now making a litany of charges against his former employer. Dent claims that Mr. Perkins exchanged free in-home rehabilitation equipment for free seat upgrades at the Fieldhouse, questions the high school eligibility of former and current Kansas basketball players, and claims the school is disregarding university drug policy for athletes. Damning charges. But Mr. Dent's behavior is erratic, to say the least. He was charged with assault by his ex-wife (but wasn't convicted). He demanded Perkins give him the rehabilitation equipment, even though he knew it wasn't his, simply because he wanted to "screw with him." Mr. Dent apparently now sees himself as a martyr, effectively admitting to a blackmail scheme in his attempt to "bring down Lew with him." At this point, it's important to note that Mr. Dent has yet to produce any evidence whatsoever. And if he's really that mad about some exercise equipment that wasn't even his...we could be looking at a nutjob. But it's definitely something to follow as the feds continue their investigation of KAI.
Darrian Miller #77 and Bubba Starling #99. H/T to Mitchum on this. I do think this is always interesting to follow. I'm guessing the rest of the rankings will be on there way over the coming week or two. Landing Starling and Miller would sure be a nice boost. - Denver
#kstate / #kufball game moved to Thursday 10/14 at 6:30 p.m. from 10/16. Will be shown on FSN nationally. #big12
From Curtis Kitchen on twitter. Thoughts?Jayhawkslant is reporting the commitment of cornerback Chris Robinson out of Lake Mary Florida to the Kansas Jayhawks. Not a lot of competition on the offer sheet, but they are saying he was drawing interest from several SEC schools this spring. 4.4 speed...and a track star in South Florida...I like speed, guess we'll see?
Good luck Todd. We're all rooting for you.
