Tom Keegan Slams Critical Kansas Fans

I just wanted to post a bit about how offended I was that Tom Keegan is so offended by Kansas fans' criticism of the football program.

Keegan is the sports editor at the Lawrence Journal World and KUSports.com. Keegan and his staff have as much access to KU sports as anyone not on the the university's payroll. It seems to me it would be in their best interest to filter the PR department at KU, but instead KUsports.com mostly rides the bandwagon.

Fans like me enjoy the home side slant of sites like our beloved "Rock Chalk Talk" and KUSports.com but a professional, objective opinion and expert analysis is all we have to rely upon outside of coach speak from press conferences.

During the several tumultuous seasons leading up to the present one everything I read said "everything was A-ok" and much later we find out: Mangino vs. Perkins, Gill is a terrible football coach, and Heaps and Crist are not good quarterbacks. It would have been nice if the professionals and experts could have gave us some insight while this was happening rather than after the fact.

I realized a while ago that Keegan's columns didn't offer me much useful information about how bad the team was. Same goes for Tait's blogs. But now I'm not going to give Keegan anymore clicks. I'll still visit the site but avoid anything written by Keegan. Thanks for keeping it real here on RCT.
