What we will all miss about Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid hasn't actually confirmed his departure for the NBA Draft quite yet. Which still means there is hope of him returning for his sophomore season. If he stays, Kansas will add on to it's already stellar backcourt tandom. Even if he does validate his claim to go pro. Kansas will fill the loss of the big Center with another one next year with Cliff Alexander and possibly Myles Turner.

Meaning the outcome will be a win-win for KU. Saying Embiid is just a replacement, is no minor task to accomplish. He established himself as a major rim protector and a fluently smooth presence scoring around the basket who can even run the floor.

Embiid still has holes in his game, as the same can be applied for Wiggins and Parker also. Though, many of us coming into this November never at all would anticipate we would have 2 potential Top 5 players enter the Draft in the same season. Making Embiid's decision to leave is questionable yet satisfying.

The Star Center emerged from our eyes. Becoming a daunting force opponents feared in the paint. As the season reached its midpoint we were amazed by his exquisite foot work and plays that make your jaw drop. Link attached is Dream Shake he put on against New Mexico in Sprint Center click here.

As the season grew he blossomed into a potential high draft pick. The Cameroon native continued to leave you wanting more with his oozing potential. Here is a "meeting at the summit" Jay Bilas's analysis of Embiid's monstrous block vs Georgetown click here.

Whether or not Embiid's decision is confirmed or will be in the near future. He will be one of my favorite Jayhawks in recent memory. Not that many players can bring an impact to a team drastically with having just 3 years of basketball knowledge in them that quickly. His calm, subtle, demeanor brought was 1 of just many reasons why Embiid's legacy will be so large in Kansas Basketball history.

Only factor bringing this young phenom down is his nagging back. In time, it will heal and in time we will see Embiid making play after play that will make you question his human existence.
