RCT Fantasy Football: 2014 Sooper Bowl Preview

Well here we are, playing for "all the marbles" as it were. KUGrad08 will lead his Fighting 5.7s against 2.1secondsleft's top-seed Delhi Meats. The winner will be the proud owner of a $25 gift card from yours truly (possibly from JoAnn Fabrics?).

Delhi Meats earned their spot in the Sooper Bowl by knocking off fifth-seeded challenger Turn Down For Watt by a score of 140.7-90.2. Meats had big days from Le'Veon Bell, Jeremy Hill, Odell Beckham Jr., the Bills DEF, and even their kicker Chandler Catanzaro. This was all needed as their star player, Aaron Rodgers, only scored 6 points. While Watt got nuthin out of Rashad Jennings and very little from A.J. Green, they still managed a respectable 90 points. Unfortunately, they needed about 50 more.

In the other semi-final, the Fighting 5.7s took advantage of a lackluster performance by 2-seed Yummy Catfishes to advance. Fighting got contributions from every position, with no player scoring less than five points. On the flip side, the Catfishes only had two positions score in double figures - their kicker and their defense. That just ain't gonna get it done in a playoff game.

And so we're set, #1 Delhi Meats vs #6 Fighting 5.7s.

These two teams met back in Week 13, the final week of the regular season, where they tied. Somehow, ESPN awarded Delhi Meats a Win and handed Fighting a Loss instead of giving them a Tie.

This means that Delhi Meats has won 9 games in a row and 11 of 12 after a 1-2 start to the season. On the other hand, Fighting started the season 2-4 and rallied to go 6-2-1 down the stretch (yes they tied another team on the year).

Grad does have championship game experience, falling last year in the title game as the second seed to averagegatsby's top-seeded squad.

After looking, I see that last year I emailed each owner and did a pre-game interview. I wish I would have looked that up a couple of days ago and we could have done it again. But alas, this needs to get posted. So, whoever wins this game, empty out your in-box, as we will be interviewing the winning coach.

As of Thursday evening, the Meats are a 43-point favorite over Fighting. Put in your bets now!!
