RCT Fantasy Football: Week 14 Roundup

The first round of the playoffs are in the books. There were "upsets" in the 3/6 and 4/5 matchups, but the top two seeds both advanced to the final four.

I have decided to throw $25 to whoever comes out as the Sooper Bowl champion. I will take suggestions for what sort of gift card to provide in the comments. You know, Amazon, Target, Chili's... whatever. Maybe Pizza Hut since it's a Kansas original?

I can't remember how I did this last year and I'm too lazy to look, so here's what I've decided: No more power rankings. Now we're just looking at matchups.

None of the winner's bracket games were particularly close. And in the loser's bracket, aka consolation bracket - well, who cares, they're all losers.

WINNER'S BRACKET

#1 Delhi Meats defeats #8 Requiem for Seabiscuit, 118.9-82.3

Seabiscuit made an unexpected run through the regular season to claim the eight seed, but feel in the first round to Le'Veon Bell and his 41.5 points. This was an interesting matchup, as it ended up basically be a three-on-three matchup between Roethlisberger/Foster/Hilton vs Rodgers/Bell/Beckham.

Next up: #1 Delhi Meats will now face #5 seed Turn Down For Watt in the final four.

#2 Yummy Catfishes explode past #7 Aisle End of Unfit Boys, 120.5-47.6

Uh yeah. misterbrain's ‘Boys really struggled in this one. No sense in wasting a lot of time on it.

Next up: #2 Yummy Catfishes take on #6 seed Fighting 5.7s.

#3 Mantis Shrimp Murder Sticks upset by #6 Fighting 5.7s

MSMS just couldn't get anything going. A season-high effort from Joique Bell was undercut by bad performances from Philip Rivers, LeSean McCoy, and Demaryius Thomas, who all combined for a grand total of 14.5 points. That just ain't gonna get it don when Julio Jones is on the other side putting up 31.9 by himself.

Next up: #6 Fighting 5.7s take their upset bid against #2 Yummy Catfishes.

#4 Hot Tamba Halis defeated by #5 Turn Down For Watt, 114.2-80.6

Talk about two teams with opposite seasons. The Halis started off very cold, losing their first three games while Watt began the season winning five of their first six games. They collide in the playoffs and Watt takes the matchup. Who knew Drew Brees would have his worst game of the season? Andrew Luck, DeMarco Murray, and A.J. Green come through for Watt.

Next up: #5 Turn Down For Watt takes on #1 Delhi Meats.

So to summarize, the winner of #1 vs #5 will face off against the winner of #6 vs #2 in the RCT Sooper Bowl Championship.

In the consolation bracket, really the only thing of note was that the #13 Everglades Swamp Apes ensured that Montana Jayhshox would stay in absolute, dead last place, defeating them for the second straight week.

I guess the second thing of note would be that RCT's favorite team, the Golden Nuggs, defeated the evil Land Crab of PenHawk. So that was pretty cool.
