RCT College Basketball Top 25 - Week 1

Our attempt to make sense of the College Basketball hierarchy.

The origin story for the RCT College  Basketball Top 25:

Disclaimer: This account is entirely generated from the recollection of the author and may in fact be completely made up.

So we were all sitting around the RCT newsroom, and Owen asked us all what we were missing here at Rock Chalk Talk.  What stories or features were we letting float away into the internet publishing void?  What can we do to get more people to come join us in discussing all things Jayhawk?

We all noticed that the main thing missing from the world was an unbiased, informative, entertaining set of power rankings!  (At least that's what we keep telling ourselves to justify this column). So we decided that we all would brave the ridicule and scorn that is due to come from telling the truth about the state of college basketball.

Unfortunately, looking at the rankings below, I'm not so sure we accomplished that goal, as I have no idea how some of these rankings happened.

School

  1. Arizona(5)
  2. Syracuse
  3. Ohio State
  4. Wisconsin
  5. Michigan State
  6. Louisville
  7. Oklahoma State
  8. Villanova
  9. Connecticut
  10. Baylor
  11. Duke
  12. Memphis
  13. Kansas
  14. Kentucky
  15. Wichita State
  16. Iowa State
  17. Oregon
  18. Florida
  19. Colorado
  20. Iowa
  21. Massachusetts
  22. North Carolina
  23. Missouri
  24. San Diego State
  25. Gonzaga

In the interest of getting this up before the game tonight, I've omitted the points and other extra information I was planning on including with this. Also, Kentucky and Wichita State are actually tied, as are Missouri and San Diego State.
