Cliff Alexander, Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones will all be making their college intentions known later this afternoon when they announce and sign with one of their finalists. The good news for Kansas fans is that the Jayhawks are a finalist. The bad news is that finishing second in recruiting doesn't do you a whole lot of good.
Bill Self and his staff already have one top level talent in the fold with Texas wing Kelly Oubre but the Jayhawks are expecting to have at least one more opening in the 2014 class and there is a strong chance that they have three and maybe even four if some of the early NBA draft projections hold out. With that in mind, landing all three of these players would cap off a epic week for Jayhawk fans and this recruiting class. The odds of that happening are slim but Okafor and Jones are down to Kansas and Duke while Alexander is down to Kansas, Illinois, Depaul and Memphis.
The announcements will take place as part of ESPNU's recruiting special at 3pm CST. Jones and Okafor will be the first live announcement with Alexander following the reported package duo. Rumors are sure to fly up until the last minute, but all we can do is wait. Kansas is positioned for the future already, but adding any one of these three helps keep the momentum going in Lawrence.
