Yes there is definitely a sense of being close but failing to close out. That's always a tough pill to swallow but it should be much easier as a fan to walk away from this game than walking away from Rice. Heading into the TCU contest there were plenty of fans and media alike that were envisioning a Big 12 performance similar to those that Kansas ahs put together during the past two seasons. That didn't happen.

There were a lot of very positive things worth discussing yesterday. Defensive improvement, offensive line play, personnel decisions that made sense, players and coaches that didn't look like they were playing not to lose. Yes mistakes and failure to convert led to a loss, but this was the first time I've in awhile that I've felt like Kansas is moving in the right direction instead of the wrong one.
