Crist - When he looked good, he looked like he could lead an upset of KSU; when he was off--throwing behind guys, in particular--he looked like the problem and not the solution. The good news is that the first half (most of it) showed that the high ceiling is still there (IMO), but the bad news is that his mixed performance means we have to put up with his "not the solution" for at least few more weeks.
Defense - Outside contain was missing almost entirely -- was that coaching or the players' fault? I saw at least three times where the edge defender got drawn inside, then the play went outside of him for a big gain. Up the middle, things looked pretty good (until they got tired and/or let up in the 4th Q), at least relatively speaking.
Letting up in the 4th Quarter - who wouldn't? I mean, sure, we expect guys to go hard all game, but I'm not going to fault them for checking out a bit once they're down 4 scores.
Offense - Looked as competent as we've seen, and against a better than average defense. No it wasn't consistent, but a lot of that was on Crist.
How crazy that they ran the same slot screen 5 times out of about 10 plays on the first drive? And other times they ran the same play back-to-back or repeated it more than once within a few plays. I would love to hear Weiss's answer to "What made you think you would be able to run the same play over and over again successfully?", which they did.
