Kevin Young Out Two Weeks With A Broken Hand

According to ESPN (so really probably according to someone else but I saw it on ESPN) Kevin Young will be out for about two weeks after breaking a bone in his right (shooting) hand in practice.

Bill Self said that Young should be back to shooting in about 10 days and could be back on the court in two weeks. I've never had a broken bone (other than a couple toes) so I'm not sure but that seems awfully quick to come back from a broken bone in his hand. But then again these guys have some of the best doctors and trainers around taking care of them

If it's possible to have good news in an injury situation like this, it's that Young isn't much of a shooter or ballhandler anyways. He took only a third of his shots or so as two point jumpers and only shot 33% on those shots. His value to the team is in his hustle and offensive rebounding, so hopefully that won't be affected much by the injury.

Young will miss KU's first exhibition, Tuesday against Emporia State, and probably the second one against Washburn, but should be available for their regular season opener on November 9th.
