FINAL: Jayhawks use late second-half surge to pull away from Kansas State, 67-49 | KUsports.com
That was ugly but still fairly easy. Just wish Tyshawn and everyone would clean it up a bit.
Travis Releford sets tone for KU | KUsports.com
Real nice game for Releford. He's a player that could really swing a game for us if he's playing like this.

His tactics are sometimes different, but I do think Frank has a style that seems to work for his type of player.

In other, very important, news...
Uh oh. I certainly took notice of this. Something tells me all the football powerplayers in the Big 12 did too.
I still don’t think they’re a good fit for our conference, but they certainly could shake up the tradional power.

What shocked me was how much smaller WVU was yet they manhandled Clemson.
I haven’t been impressed the last few years with WVU except in high profile games. They really play well in bowl games and against ranked teams. Of course i’m too lazy to look up stats, just what I catch on TV.
If they laid 70 on Clemson
I can’t even bare to think about what they will do to us, home or away, next season (assuming they get their wish and can join next season)

The ACC getting 2 teams
in BCS bowls is enough on it’s own to end the system.

I'm just amazed at how shitty the game was.
The BCS can’t come up with five decent freaking games? It’s unbelievable.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.
Rock Chalk Talk
Every other BCS game has been fantastic
If one of the 4/5 is a bad game then I’ll take it.
Clemson didn’t belong in the game, and it showed. WVU vs. Boise State or even WVU vs. KState would have been a much better game.
Shit happens when you win championships
OSU vs Stanford wasn't decent?
To be fair, I’ve boycotted ALL bowl games. It’s been hell for this college football fan (although my wife seems to be much happier lately). But I’m fed up with the BCS and this is the only way I can do anything about it.
Having said that, what I read about the OSU/Stanford game made it sound like an awesome game (Oregon vs Wiscy too).
Truthfully, the best football I’ve seen all post-season was when I watched 2 quarters of the Sam Houston State vs Montana DII playoff game. Those weren’t the biggest or fastest kids, but that was just good, winner-moves-on-loser-goes-home football. That’s how it should be.

I didn't
think OSU/Stanford was a great game by any means. OSU/LSU and Alabama/Stanford would have both been more intriguing games.
I think it was a great game
Lots of momentum swings, big plays, and it went to overtime. What more do you want? The Oregon-Wiscy game was also a great game, and the Virginia Tech – Michigan game was pretty good as well, even if you couldn’t help but wonder how much Virginia Tech would have won by if they could have stopped shooting themselves in the face.

Oh I thought that was a pretty decent game.
But I want all five to be decent/interesting. Last night’s game had ZERO interest for anyone not associated with Clemson or West Virginia.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

Seth Davis' Buy/Sell report is a stupid idea
So it was especially gratifying to watch a bunch of his “buy” candidates like UConn lose and “sell” candidates like Gtown win in the games immediately following its publication.
I'd honestly sell
most of college basketball right now. I don’t see much quality outside of Carolina and Kentucky and even those teams aren’t the sort of nightmares that everyone predicted going into the year.
Elijah has a 2:1 A/TO rate- better than anyone in the Missouri backcourt, for instance. I’m not sure he’s a good example of ‘spotty decision making’. I think that story begins and ends with Tyshawn.
Check those numbers on MU's backcourt
My main issue is that it’s all relative to how he perceives others perceive the teams, which just complicates and confuses the evaluation. If he wants to make a big deal out of the rankings (and I don’t know why he would since I think college football has pretty thoroughly discredited rankings in most fans’ eyes) then he can just compare where teams are ranked to where he thinks they’ll end up as season end. Otherwise, just free up some space for Luke Winn to write more because Luke actually has interesting things to say.
Pressey: 3.9:2.2
Denmon: 1.4:0.9
Dixon:1.6:0.9
All are worse than Elijah’s 1.3:0.7.
Complaints can be made about Elijah, but turning it over isn’t an issue.
Where are those numbers from
And what are they divided by?
Here’s what Yahoo! has:
Pressey: 6.1: 2.1
Denmon: 2.3 : 0.7
Dixon: 3.1 : 1.5
English: 1.7 : 2.1
Well
you’re comparing them this year. I am, of course comparing all their freshman years to Elijah this year. Duh. ESPN flips the chronological order, my bad.
Regardless, 2:1 isn’t a bad ratio and is far from our problem.
It's also the case that, at 0.7 per game, he's posting fewer turnovers than any of them.
So you’re right that him turning it over isn’t a problem.
Sports Illustrated's wrap up of the game
Not very impressed with this writer or ths wrap up (going 1 for 4 from the stripe in one game is a sign that Robinson’s FT shooting is regressing?) but tossing it out there for those interested in game stories.
This is such a poor write-up...
That I’m even having trouble finding the right words to criticize the piece.

I've never read anything by him before
And I don’t have any intention of reading anything by him in the future after this piece. He and I either watched different games or use different definitions for common words or both.
I looked at his archive
It appears he covers high school football for Sports Illustrated. I’m not sure why he was even watching this game.
I stopped reading
when he said (I think) turnovers are a new problem. Please don’t let this guy be a KU JSchool grad.

THAT guy
got an advanced degree at Northwestern? I guess writing coherent sentences and paragraphs isn’t part of the curriculum. Embarrassing.
Northwestern offers a lot of online programs and etc for grad degrees
I think if you are willing to pay, you can go.
Hell, they e-mail me all the time promoting their grad program for journalists, and I wasn’t exactly a book worm..

#11 sports gif made me sick
Not being a Baseball fan I only go to a few games a year. I have been fortunate to have caught two balls in the stands and both times have given them to complete stranger kids. Unless Its a Bonds etc homerun record ball I cannot understand the need to possess a two dollar baseball.
If you google search
you’ll find lots of things that make you feel a little better about that situation.
1) That lady got publicly crucified on FB, twitter, etc., etc.
2) That lady got publicly crucified on numerous tv broadcasts
3) I believe that game was in Houston and the Astros sent some team reps up to the stands with balls, bats, shirts, etc. right after they saw what happened. So the little girl didn’t get completely hosed.
Personaly I like to believe that the beotch is now living a miserable life having publicly stolen a golden moment from a little girl…….

I love how the beeyotch high fives people afterwards

I wish her nothing but a lifetime of misfortune

Honestly
I think this woman probably deserves more ridicule than Steve Bartman ever received.

Real Donuts are cake donuts.

i agree with this
local bakeries almost alway blow the big chains out of the water in terms of donuts (most everything actually)
Yeah I never had Krispy Kreme until I moved out to CA.
They were incredibly hyped. When I finally had one it was so over-the-top cake-icing sweet that I wanted to throw up.
On the other hand, In-N-Out is good stuff just like they say.
In-N-Out is no Five Guys
The only reason I drive out to the ’burbs is to hit one of the two Five Guys in the Portland area. Those burgers are heaven.
The poster formerly known as DCJayhawk0208
never
been impressed with 5 guys. their fries are greasy & I like a pinker burger personally.
Pay heed...
In-n-out is alright
and I always hit it up when in Cali, but Winsteads and Five Guys are both better to my taste buds. If I lived in Cali I’d miss those 2 far more than I miss In-and-out now.
The entered the Dallas-Fort Worth market a few years back
Haven’t made much of a dent. Several locations have since closed.
They seem to do well
in public transportation areas and poorly in car-dominated areas. Not sure what their idea is expanding to the midwest (outside of chicago) but it seems foolish considering the actual quality offerings that are available on every street corner in commuterville.
Glad you included the women's game link
A big win for the Jayhawks and a boost for Bonnie’s job footing. Yes, many teams still use “Lady” but KU never has. Coach Marian Washington made sure of that – and was quick to correct sportswriters and editors who made the mistake.
