Bracketology - NCAA College Basketball Brackets and Predictions - ESPN
Latest bracketology has us #2 in the East. Baylor currently sits at a #1. So if we beat Baylor and then manage to work our way to the Big 12 title. Do we jump into the conversation for a #1? Who are the other candidates? I'm thinking Syracuse and Kentucky are working toward lock status. Duke is in there, Baylor obviously, Missouri as well. Big 12 is a really tough conference up top, doesn't the winner deserve a #1?

Good riddance
Berglund, whose highly publicized legal battle in Colorado kept him away from the program for nearly all of the 2011 season, called the Journal-World on Monday evening and said he learned of his dismissal via Twitter. The freshman quarterback who said he will pursue playing options at other schools said he planned to return to Kansas as recently as a week ago but had softened on the idea after learning that his request to contact others to discuss his future had been denied. KU officials said Berglund sent an email to several people in the KU athletic department at 3:08 p.m. Sunday informing them that he would not be at a mandatory 5 p.m. Sunday team meeting. The fact he missed it was enough for Weis to make the decision for him.
Indeed, I was just going to comment on Burglund
it’s a shame but this kid has been an enigma from the get go and doesn’t seem that HCCW is in the mood to deal with shenanigans. He e-mailed the staff less than 2 hours before a MANDATORY team meeting to say he wouldn’t be attending. I can’t believe with this kid’s past troubles that someone didn’t get into his head and tell him to straighten up and fly right.
He knew he’d been in trouble in the past, he knew that there’s a new hard-ass sherriff in town, he knew there was a mandatory meeting. Now he knows what the meaning of mandatory is.
Good for HCCW and I hope Brock can get his head on straight.
The name of that song played at KC Comets games in the '80's was Giorgio Moroder's "The Chase." Now you know.

Also, did Dick Vitale
when referencing the lovely young KU ladies refer to himself as a sex symbol last night? I was making a sandwich at the time and almost lost my appetite.

This may seem stupid to others
but I do not want a #1 seed. I just don’t see this team handling the #1 seed mystique. A #2 seed sounds much better to me, you still have a great road and there isn’t the pressure of, “we have to make it because we are a #1”.
Some can say it’s meaningless but I’ve seen too many good #1 seed KU teams lose early to not feel this way.

Way too early
to be thinking about seeding, IMHO.

Agree with both of you...
And the fact that Joe Lunardi is paid to do what he does is one of the bigger mysteries of life.

If it didn’t, he wouldn’t have a job. Not hard to find what the bottom line is at E$PN.
Mock NCAA brackets and mock drafts
Sure they end up being wrong, but people love em. I’m guilty of loving mock NFL drafts…

I wouldn't worry about that one
I’m thinking we’ll end up a 2 or 3, assuming no tailspins (or going undefeated through league play)
I write everywhere. You're probably better off following me on twitter
We aren't going to be a one seed so you don't need to worry
In fact, I’d argue we have a much better show at a 3 seed than a 1 seed.

I think it will be very hard to deny the winner of the Big 12 a 1-seed
Especially if that team wins with 3 or fewer losses.
A six-loss team as a 1-seed?
Has that happened before in the 64-game era?

Only one I could find in a quick look was UNC in 2006-2007.
Won the ACC regular season and tournament, and were 29-6 heading into the NCAA’s after losing 4 out of their final 9 regular seasons games.
Quite a few 5 loss teams, but no other 6 loss teams in the last 8 or 9 years. That I saw anyway.
End of the day add to headlines
Grantlands NBA rookie ranking. Markieff checks in at #4. The author loves his post moves. Something tells me if he didn’t go to kansas and spend 3 years under manning, he wouldnt be on that list
nice find
interesting to read the others too. Totally forgot where some of these guys were.
