Classic Frank Martin. This guy is so close to coming unglued on live television but I have to say I like it just a bit. It's crazy, it's funny yet odd, it's Frank-style...ever heard of that one Stan?

Love it
but it’s his fault. Any coach that doesn’t see Spradling is going to lose him games isn’t looking very hard.
I think it was Angel Rodriguez that had the turnovers late.
That may have been the best post-game interview ever.
It was Rodriguez who had the late turnovers...
while they were trying to rest Spradling.
Irving had a few in that stretch too.
That game was lost because of those turnovers.

I'm glad he's angry, but I'll bet he's not nearly as angry as the fans who paid money to go watch his team piss away a lead like that
Frank, I like you, and you’re often a really good ambassador for the school, but dammit, you can’t blame everything on your players. I blame you for the turd you laid in Lawrence a week ago, and for the team pissing away the game against Baylor (3 #*$#* times!).

BOYCOTT ESPN!
Classic Frank
As someone who had to talk to former KU baseball coach Dave Bingham after tough losses, it’s easy to sympathize with Stan.
That man
could not carry himself any more poorly. He’s Bo Pelini in a suit.
He clearly has some coaching ability AAU ties, but he is not a man I’d want as the face of my program

Honestly, I like Frank.
It is a breath of fresh air to have a coach that wears their heart on their sleeve and speaks their mind. Keeps the media on their toes!
I think he is different from Bo Pelini. Frank may be intense and yell at his players, but to me he seems to genuinely care about his guys and will stand up for them. Bo just seems like a bully.
As for your comment about being the face of your program, I also think that for K-State and the Big 12 he is a good asset. He is always talking up the competition and the quality of the conference. Also, he has been able to get Manhattan to buy into him.
Overall, I think his personality may be abrasive, but his contributions to K-State and our conference as a whole have been more beneficial than his personality.
What? A girl who likes sports...INCONCEIVABLE!
actually
Pelini’s guys would run through a wall for him.
As for Martin being an asset, I would agree with him being half of that word. He’s brought KSU increased basketball success, but they could probably attain it without all the drama Martin brings to the program.

I think
Taylor Martinez might disagee with you. No way T-Mart runs through a wall for Pelini after the public, profanity-laced ass chewing the kid got from Bo. Hell that’s what Bo’s most famous for.

and Wally Judge wouldn't run through a wall for Frank, either
I didn’t say every player in Lincoln is in love with Pelini, just that his players are surprisingly loyal to him

You think?
I’d say that the media loves Frank Martin. That by itself is a huge difference from Pelini and is hugely important whether it should be or not. Martin is in no way hurting his recruiting abilities with this sort of thing.
I like Frank too
But for selfish reasons. He’s raised the level of KSU basketball without being a threat to KU’s dominance in the series since 1988.
In what world
is any coach threatening KU’s dominance? The game is very different than it was in 1988. I’m not sure Coach K could threaten KU from Manhattan.
Probably not
But I don’t really want to find out. Part of me likes the fact that the league title goes through Lawrence every year, but part wishes there was more of a competition for it, like what UNC and Duke go through each year or what Syracuse, UConn, Villanova and others have in the Big East.
I think the latter does help prepare a team for the tournament. Not saying KU isn’t ready, but it could help.
