Fullback is a position that is supposed to play an increasingly important role on the Jayhawk offense, as Coach Turner Gill wants to incorporate a more traditional power running game to the Jayhawk arsenal.
#33 Nick Sizemore 6’2 246 (SO) Lititz(PA)- Sizemore transferred to KU from Buffalo and sat out last year due to transfer rules. He is a very big bruising Fullback. There were a lot of good stories about Sizemore last year. He will be the starter at fullback this year and for the foreseeable future. He is exactly the kind of guy coach Gill wants at the Fullback spot.
#32 Christian Lane 6’2 232 (RSFR) Bellair (TX)- Lane is built in the mold of Sizemore, at 6’2 232 he is a big physical force inside. He will be battling fellow Freshman Josh Smith for the title of fullback of the future.
#30 Josh Smith 5’10 205 (RSFR) Hutchinson (KS) – Smith is built like a bowling ball and knows how to run the ball. The Kansas squad was lucky to receive Smith as a walkon in Gills first recruiting class. Smith needs time to bulk up and sharpen his skills. Smith is very talented and could breakout after Sizemore is gone.
Depth Chart prediction
