Randy Savage could actually work the ring a little bit. Putting him and the Ultimate Warrior in the same breath is absurd outside of the flashy colors.

He had his moments.

But Sting was always WCW/NWA and in that time, I was a big 4 Horseman guy. It didn’t get better than the Anderson’s and Flair.

I kinda liked the dark side

But he sucked when he joined the NWO and started painting his face red. The whole nWo thing with Steve Nash was dumb, and Hogan being “hollywood”, etc.

By the way, did any of you rasslin fans ever play WCW/NWO Revenge for the N64? Freaking fantastic video game. Man that game was fun, and really fun to play with a bunch of drunk guys (free for all, ladder match, tagteam, etc)

The NWO was great for about 6 months

then they had no clue what to do with it.

Yeah I guess I should clarify

I liked the whole original nWo subplot, it was the woldpack thing that annoyed me. Like you said, they started running out of steam. And when that happens in wrestling, you usually just start throwing in crazy plots and twists.

When I was a kid, the two big developments in the WCW scene were the nWo plots and the increased attention on Mexican / Lucha Libre rasslers (like Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerro RIP). Both were refreshing and different, but got overplayed and drawn out in various ways (like Ray Mysterio’s rapping career and WCW showing his rap videos during the show)
