Marcus has been getting pretty hosed in the POY discussions.
Some because he doesn’t get up to the %minutes threshold that people apply.
Some is that some people think a POY has to be a guy who makes a so-so team great. Which applies to Marcus to some extent, but apparently not enough.
Some of it is that Marcus is more of a steady scorer than a huge play guy. In the Arizona game, his ORtg was higher than Derrick Williams’, but to hear people talk about that game you’d think Arizona won that game lead by Derrick Williams’ mind-boggling play.
Some of it is that he’s had not-so-great games in the spotlight like UCLA, Michigan, Texas.
And some of it is probably attitude.
I'm going out on a limb and saying...
90% of it is his attitude. I think getting ejected from the Cal game shot his chances, regardless of his stats.
Or hopefully he can show the POY winner
his National Championship ring and say: “suck on this motherf…..”
build a damn football program, beat some ass, and get on tv more.
