Kansas Football

KU-Missouri football gametime changed to 2:30 p.m. | KUsports.com
A little change to the Border War. Wish I was going. I don't care what the scoreboard says, I think this is one where we need to show up. It's looking like the potential final Border War for a long while and there's no reason to sit back and let Missouri have free reign of the place regardless of what we think might happen on the field.

Steven Johnson among seniors girding for finale | KUsports.com
Tough year for the seniors but they still deserve credit for being part of some better times at Kansas.

Kansas Basketball

Kansas Jayhawks' Thomas Robinson Ignored NBA To Work With Danny Manning - SB Nation Kansas City
By coming back to work on his game and continue to grow at an elite college level school, Thomas Robinson could find himself a lottery choice at the next NBA Draft.

Wait and see: Thomas Robinson solid in delayed debut | KUsports.com
Wish I could have seen it. Plenty more opportunities though.

Naadir Tharpe gives KU yet another jet | KUsports.com
Plenty of excitement building around this one.

Joe Pa

Penn State Nittany Lions sexual abuse case -- Support for Joe Paterno 'eroding' - ESPN
Tough deal seeing a legend go out this way but it's hard to feel sorry for ANYONE involved in this situation.

College Hoops

Shaq Goodwin tweets that he's headed to Memphis Tigers - ESPN
The Memphis Tigers are reloading with Pastner. Looks like Calipari might not have been the death of this program after all.

In 5 years do we remember 409 wins or this scandal?

by fizzle406 on Nov 9, 2011 7:54 AM CST via mobile reply actions

Here's where I think things get dicey for him...

He’s at the tail end of LIFE…not just his career. We are an extremely forgiving society and he isn’t the primary perpetrator here, but it is also a VERY sensitive matter and has people very fired up. If he never has a chance to truly redeem himself and resolve this in some way, then it could very well be the scandal.

I mean this whole thing is ugly and only getting uglier. Hell when was the last time you saw a sports analyst cry on camera, or news professionals absolutely speechless about something related to sports? I mean scandal is scandal and then there is this which appears to take it to a whole new level and the amount of odd things that make this appear to be a MASSIVE cover up are getting to numerous to keep track of.

If it's one or the other,

I don’t think people will forget the scandal.

You know, the past few years

I’ve made myself pretty willfully ignorant in regards to scandals. There is a scandal every other week. I get tired of reading about it, I frankly really don’t want to know. So generally, I go out of my way to avoid the press on this kind of stuff. So i have no clue what’s going on with JoPa other than it sounds a bit like the Catholic Church scandal from a few years back. Beyond that, I don’t much care.

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

You should care about this one

The willingness of so many people to look the other way, report things internally but not to police and to continue to let it go on is inexcusable.

Yeah calling this one a "scandal" doesn't do it justice.

This is more like HOLY $#@! Dave Bliss at Baylor type stuff. It’s crazy-stupid that he’s going to finish out his season and I’ll be surprised if someone doesn’t change their mind about that real soon.

Can he replace Gill??

If he were younger, this wouldn't be a joke...

Maybe he and Kansas football could have found redemption together.

Wish I was going to Border War too

Mizzou fans took over our section last year – we don’t need that again for what’s the final game in at least a decade.

Sadly...

I’m one of the ones that actually bought a ticket and still isn’t going to be there. If it makes anyone feel better, I certainly won’t give it to a Missouri fan.

I'd like to meet the KU fans who did that last year

And made our experience miserable. An older couple on our row left before halftime.

by jayhawk1996 on Nov 9, 2011 12:33 PM CST up reply actions

In their defense...

That was the single most boring game I’ve ever been to. I’m not entirely sure either team even broke a sweat.

by hiphopopotamus on Nov 9, 2011 3:20 PM CST up reply actions

Perhaps

But I didn’t expect to purchase tickets through the Williams Fund on the lower level near midfield and have more Mizzou fans around me than KU fans.
Felt like we’d gone back to home-and-home and the game was in Columbia.

I'll take it, thanks man

Shit happens when you win championships

luckily I work from home

So, since my wife is at work, I had no problem openly weeping at parts of that. Just unbelievable.

T-Rob is going to make this year’s team a very special one for fans.
