From a Kansas sports fan perspective, I'm fairly happy to put that one behind me. 2011 is a new year and a chance to turn the page on a few of the lowlights from last year. Don't get me wrong, they weren't all lowlights and anytime you win your sixth straight Big 12 Conference championship while rolling to a 5-0 record against your two hated rivals it's a good thing. But we'd be foolish not to admit that there were areas that proved equally frustrating.
Onward and upward as they say, whoever "they" is. Here's to a great 2011 and all things moving in the right direction.
Two things here. First, I think Coach Self was irritated by the number of questions he had to answer based on the last switch which was done for good reason. Second, I think it's clear that this team needs some players and leaders to emerge and that isn't happening. Up the stakes, lay it on the line in practice and you're the guy that gets his name called on gameday.
This more or less sums up the year in 2010. Not much football, Sherron Collins on the basketball court and of course, UNI.
