Daily Grind - September 13 from Kansas Jayhawks on Vimeo.
Gridiron episode two should come out tonight. Considering last weeks edition got me excited while showing game week of a loss, this week should be exceptional.
Today we kickoff our initial preview and analysis into Southern Mississippi. Looking back at Tech has been fun and the game certainly reshaped expectations, but it's time to look ahead. Tough game this Friday, completely different offensive style an attacking defense and what looks to be a tricky matchup awaits Kansas in their road opener.

Um? (from the Tait article)
The wide receivers — which Gill calls the strength of this team — also were fantastic in the win
Not sure that fantastic is what I’d use to describe them on Saturday.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

Depends on what part of their game you're talking about
I thought their down field blocking was fantastic.
build a damn football program, beat some ass, and get on tv more.
the receiving part.

Yeah, on that we can agree
some bad drops keep it from being “awesome”.
I think Tait just got caught up in some hype.

Some good, some bad...
McDougald had two blatant drop, and DP tried to run before he caught the ball once. That being said, DP had a very solid day otherwise, and McDougald made a nice catch from his knees in the end zone.

“It looks to me like they have their big boy pads on this week.” — Dave Lapham, on KU’s play vs. Georgia Tech.
I don’t know what y’all think of Lapham, but I like him. He’s got some John Madden goofiness in him, for sure, but he calls it like he sees it. And he’s witnessed some pretty awesome KU games over the past several years.

the only thing that bugs the hell out of me with him...
is that he constantly seems unprepared or unaware of the personnel. Terry Keeston was this year’s mistake that was made constantly.
Last year he kept saying “Joe Laptad”. Stuff like that irritates me a bit.

I watched the replay of the game on Sunday morning
and Terry Keeston made me laugh every time

Yeah,
I think he had a few “Kerry Meiers” too.
But that stuff doesn’t bother me that much. It’s kind of part of the “John Madden Goofiness” that I’m talking about. If “goofiness” is even a word………

I laughed at that quote too...
I didn’t even catch that one in the game but it certainly echoed what I was thinking. If those guys bring some intensity, there’s no reason it would be impossible to win most of the games left on the schedule. But after watching the first game, I can’t help but think that the flipside of us being able to lose to everyone on the schedule is still there as well. Hopefully we don’t see any more North Dakota State-like efforts.
Dave Lapham is awful.
Just STFU and call the game, that’s what I say. The goofiness is fine but there’s a fine line between being a goof and an idiot.
There is no red like Chiefs red.
I'm an idiot
and Dave Lapham insults me.
I guess there's gotta be a break in the monotony, but Jesus, when it rains how it pours.
