RCT Kansas Football Jersey Giveaway
All right folks, it's Friday before opening week. And with game week, we kickoff of our fall lineup and the celebration that is football season will officially get underway.
As a thank you to all of you who hang around here, talk a little football, talk a little basketball, baseball and whatever other sport we end up at...RCT is going to be giving away a Kansas Jayhawk Jersey to one lucky winner.
In case a jersey isn't really your style, perhaps a Kansas Football sideline polo...or if you feel like going cheap and saving me some money, these are on clearance!
Either way, the point is you've essentially got a $60 jersey/polo or other apparel item going to our winning RCT member. So, how do you win?
Well first you should be a member. Haven't joined yet? It's free, sign up here and who knows you might actually enjoy talking a little about the Hawks. I won't make this a requirement, but I'm always looking for a good excuse to pull a few lurkers out of the shadows to join in the conversation.
As for the real real contest...next week the Jayhawks play North Dakota State. Give me the player you think will contribute the most yards from scrimmage, EXCLUDING the quarterback. No return yardage here either...strictly offensive yards from scrimmage. In addition, give me your prediction for the LEADING TACKLER in the game for Kansas. And of course, as the tie breaker, let's have your FINAL SCORE PREDICTION.
Email me your entry at denverjhawk@hotmail.com. And just for the heck of it put a quick shout-out in the comments if you'll be at the game next Saturday. I'll be there looking to sample some of KUGrad's gameday chicken. Now on TO THE CONTEST!!

The Sideline Polo
is sweet. I had one similar. My Dad drove all the way from OP, KS to Lawrence last December to get me one for Christmas. It was on Christmas Day when I told him he could have just driven to the Overland Park campus bookstore and purchased the same thing. He was not amused.
Alas, last month someone stole it. I had it hanging in a changing room while I worked out in the gym in my office building. Why someone in Austin, TX (the land of Longhorns, Aggies, and way too many Californians) would want a used Jayhawk polo is beyond me……….maybe their pissed about bball and wanted something to burn.
build a damn football program, beat some ass, and get on tv more.
The best way to start gameday,
especially opening weekend gameday, is with steak and eggs, and bloody mary’s.
Bloody Marys?!?!
Yuck. Prarie Fires.

that does sound like a hell of a plan...
where’s your tailgate…I’ll have the turf and turf, the strip and the porterhouse : )

That polo would be a great shirt for school.
I could do some great teachin’ in that.
Glad I came, just wish I hadn't stayed so long.

I'll be at the game for sure.
If you see a couple of guys in a shitty white Nissan truck parked in front of the Stadium, grilling portobellos and listening to Girl Talk, stop by for a beer. And maybe a hug.
I want that jersey. Bad.
Can we pick which player if we win?

absolutely...
as long as it’s available as is, I can’t splurge for the $125 custom one. Hopefully that doesn’t ruin your hopes of getting that Branstetter jersey.

Grown men shouldn't wear jerseys.
Jerseys are great for little kids and women look hot in them . . . but that’s it. Plus, that polo is pretty sweet.
The wife and I are planning on making it to the game next weekend, but I’m not sure what our plans are before kickoff. Our usual tailgating friends won’t be in attendance.

I feel like basketball jerseys are a little more acceptable,
but yeah, football jerseys are pretty awkward.
what...
about Hockey sweaters…nothing against hockey, but those are about the worst.

wow I feel the opposite
bball jerseys are awkward as hell…wearing them without an undershirt is weird in some instances, but then with an undershirt you just look like T.J. Pugh and nobody wants that.
Football jerseys however are more like normal shirts that people wear, different, but not a tank top.
My personal opinion.

I'd agree...
I don’t see many people in public with a basketball jersey and no shirt underneath that I really want to associate with.

But we do agree that nobody throws one on when heading out for a date, right?

A date to a KU game?
I pretty much knew I had a keeper when my wife took me to a KU game at NU and wore my “Beak ’em Hawks” sweatshirt (showing my age) b/c her father insisted she at least wear “red” if she was going to cheer for the “home team”.
um, no -
A football jersey at least has sleeves. If I wear a BBall jersey I feel like I should be some douchebag with my hat cocked and maybe a cheap gold chain.
I won’t even wear a bball jersey when I’m playing bball…
There is no red like Chiefs red.
I wear my packer jersey with pride
But I agree, that Polo is sweet. I’d wear that to work everyday

Yep. Just have to make sure they're about a youth medium

The other option is to do bear crawls across the practice fields with coach Mangino

Brandon Bourbon will have the most yards from scrimmage. OOPS POW SURPRISE, NORTH DAKOTA!!!
Prinz Kande will have the most tackles after shockingly being moved to middle linebacker.
Final score: Kansas 66 North Dakota State 0

You mean you don't think Kande is
moving to middle linebacker?

Understand there is no need for a jersey on a middle aged man, But
It would look great in my KU memorabilia room. Or otherwise known as my indoctrinated six year old sons room.

Absolument
Unfortunately I won’t be able to go to many games this year. In Chicago for the first game, and I’m in Chicago for work for a few weeks in October/November, so the NMSU game is one of a select few. Man I miss having student tickets…
That should be a good one though. Late kickoff which provides for some tailgating, gaming and then maybe a bar hoop when it ends. If you’re coming let me know. I’ve met Bensa and KC, and it would be good to meet other RCT people in person so the woman stops making fun of me for having “internet friends…”
