UPDATE: Bring out the salt shaker, less than a week after decommitting from the Huskers, Jayhawkslant reporting Dylan Admire has committed to Kansas. Another flurry of activity on the recruiting front. Great to see a local prospect decide to stay home. For those counting, that's SEVEN offensive lineman. I'm thinking there might be a potential DT move for someone down the line, but depth is certainly a good thing.
The Jayhawkslant is reporting that JaCorey Shepard a 5'11' wideout from Mesquite Texas has switched his commitment from the Iowa Hawkeyes to the Kansas Jayhawks.
Wideout was a position that was a bit of a question mark with this class due to a pretty healthy haul in recent classes.
Turner Gill and the staff inherited plenty of big targets with names like Chris Omigie, Erick McGriff, Andrew Turzilli, Keeston Terry, Brian Maura and Ricki Herod. Now they add another one in a slightly different mold and a player that brings a little more in the way of speed to the table.
Shepard is the #10 receiving prospect in the state of Texas and listed early in the Texas top 100, both very good indicators of his ability.
The commitment brings the tally to 14 for the 2011 class. Kansas was originally believed to have 21-22 spots available, but that number could increase by signing day.
