Okay, so we're bashing poor Texas.  Poor, er, rich, err, richer Texas gets its way again.  Aww.  The new Big XII media contract is out and the particulars are being discussed elsewhere; it has been pointed out that the previous media contract is what triggered this whole mess.  Both Mizzou and Nebraska cried foul over the disparity in conference revenue as it was distributed to the member programs.  So how did we fix the problem?  Well, Beebe just added a zero at the end of everyone's $ number and is hoping that nobody notices that the disparity is still there.  Not only is it still there it's larger than before.

So, let's play a game...

Let's say all this realignment mess happens 10 years ago.  When OU was 9 months away from fluking its way back into the national spotlight and Texas was still wallowing in post-SWC mediocrity; Nebraska was coming off a once in a century decade and CU was still at full strength all the while with KSU emerging from Dante's 3rd level of football hell.

At that point, let's say the Big XII gets a call from the Big 10.  The Big 10 makes a pitch to Nebraska and Colorado that they'd be stupid to refuse.  Lots of money and better exposure.  Nebraska and Colorado both seem pretty happy with the Big XII, but the allure of more money is always tempting.  So they give the Big XII the right of 1st refusal.  They tell the Big XII, "hey guys, look, the two of us have had an great run these past ten years." "Me especially" says Brasky Pants.  "Plus we're probably the most visible football programs in the conference" "Yeah, and I've sold out my stadium every year since 1892," pipes Husker-doo.  "So, what we're trying to say here, is that we'll stay.  We'll save the conference the fatal blow by not bolting to the Big 10, IF we get a new media contract and you pay us 20% more than anyone else, we'll deign to remain with the lowly Big XII."  The rest of the schools look at Bugeater and Ralphie like they've just grown a third arm...

So, show of hands, how many here think Texas would be cool with this?  What?  Zero?  Nobody thinks this is a fair deal?  Hmm.  That's strange....
